Key Insights on Top Websites in the United States in March 2026
The most visited websites in the United States stay firmly led by Google, YouTube, and Facebook in March 2026, with 26.7 billion, 12.3 billion, and 2.66 billion visits, respectively. The top three do not change from February, so the headline story is stability at the top, not turnover. That stability also comes with heavy concentration: those three sites alone account for 57.1% of all visits in the top 100, and Google by itself captures 36.6%. The gap is especially clear at the very top, where Google draws more than twice as many visits as YouTube.
The sharpest mover this month is Claude.ai, which jumps 35 places, from No. 90 to No. 55, while more than doubling its traffic to 158.3 million visits. WhatsApp also stands out, climbing 15 spots to No. 43 with a 68.5% traffic increase. On the downside, Intuit posts the clearest meaningful drop: it falls 16 positions, from No. 41 to No. 57, and is one of the few sites in the list with a real month-over-month traffic decline, down 20.5%.
The broader pattern is how steeply traffic falls after the first few positions. The top 5 websites account for 63.5% of all visits, and the top 10 reach 71.8%, which shows how concentrated this market remains even in a growth month. There is also a major cliff after No. 2: YouTube has 12.3 billion visits, while No. 3 Facebook has 2.66 billion. That gap helps explain why the most popular websites in the United States keep looking stable even when the middle of the ranking shifts.
One unusually strong signal this month is that rank declines do not always mean weaker performance. Total visits across the top 100 rise 27.5% month over month, so some sites lose ground even while growing in absolute traffic. ChatGPT is a good example: it adds 113.4 million visits, but still slips from No. 6 to No. 9 because nearby competitors grow faster.
